1I have signed a contract, but I am still on out of contract rates. Why?

There are several reasons why this is happening. If you believe you are on out of contract rates and should not be, contact our Customer Service department at 020 3544 9040 or via email at customerservice@alfaenergy.co.uk.

2How come different consultants come up with different prices?

Consultants do not all have the same level of working relationships with suppliers. Those that can tender energy in bulk may receive more favourable rates than consultants who cannot.

3How can Alfa Energy get a better price than I can?

We already have long-established relationships with suppliers, and when we tender on your behalf, we make sure to do it with all of them. It is a competitive market, so we can go back and forth between them to get the best price for you.

4Procurement is a small piece of what I need. What if I need more than just competitive rates?

5Why is it best to have an October end date for my energy contract?

Having an October end date means you can start renewing your contract in the summer, which is well-known in the industry to be a time of low demand. Thus, prices are lower then, especially for gas.

6How does Alfa Energy make their money?

There are several ways in which we are compensated for our services. Most often, we receive a fee from the supplier you choose. This fee is typically built into your energy contract rate or standing charge. We can also charge you directly, forgoing any fees direct from the supplier, or we can do a share of savings as part of several our services. Ultimately, the choice is yours on how you’d like to pay us.

7I am moving into a new premise. What do I need to do to make sure I have uninterrupted electricity and gas supply?

There are a couple of things you need to do whenever you move into a new premise. Those are:

1. Submit a Change of Tenancy (COT) form to the current supplier of your new site. If you need assistance with your COT, contact your Alfa Energy account manager directly, or if you do not have one, call us at 0208 090 1863.

2. Arrange for new energy contract. Our consultants are on hand to help you find the most suitable agreement for your business. Contact your account manager directly, or call us at 0208 090 1863 to request assistance. It is best to do so at least a month before your move in date in case you choose a different supplier from the one already on site (it can take 2-5 weeks for a transfer to happen).

8Do the market reports cost anything?
