Extension to Climate Change Agreements (CCAs)

           News

The current Climate Change Agreements (CCA) scheme has been extended by two years as follows:

  • the addition of a new Target Period (TP5), from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2022.
  • relief on CCL to be extended to the end of March 2025 if all criteria has been met.

The scheme reopened for new entrants until 30th November 2020, allowing eligible facilities not already participating to apply to join in TP5. The government expects to confirm a timeline for further engagement on a future CCA scheme in due course. The government response to the consultation for the extension of the CCA scheme, which includes the decisions outlined above, can be found here.
